3/4M

Welcome to 3/4 M's class page.  This year Mr McNamara is lucky to have Ms Colmer helping in the class.  We will be keeping you up to date with some of the things we have been doing in class as well as giving some important information.

P.E.

Every Tuesday the children will have P.E. so it is important they come to school dressed in their outdoor kit which is tracksuit or shorts, white t shirt or jumper and suitable trainers.

This half term we are working on our cognitive skills as well as dynamic balance and coordination.  You can support us by promoting the cognitive skills below starting from level 2

Level 4

  • I can identify specific parts of performance to work on.
  • I can understand ways (criteria) to judge performance.
  • I can use my awareness of space and others to make good decisions.

Level 3

  • I can explain what I am doing well and I have begun to identify areas for improvement

Level 2

  • I can begin to order instructions, movements and skills.
  • I can explain why someone is working or performing well.
  • With help, I can recognise similarities and differences in performance.

At the end of each lesson there is a home task for pupils to try out for the following week.  If you are feeling energetic and want to join in please take a photo or small video clip and upload it to Seesaw.

Reading

Please hear your children read as often as possible.  When your child can read the book fluently with understanding they need to put their book in the changing tray in class.  A member of staff will then check their reading and understanding.  They might be asked to read it again if they have struggled with some of the words or could not answer questions on the text.  The book might not be changed the same day it is brought in as adults are working with groups so it might be changed the next day.  If this happens please read an alternative book at home.

Home learning

A task will be set fortnightly on Seesaw for pupils to complete.  If you or your child have any difficulties accessing the home learning please contact Mr McNamara as soon as possible.

You will have had an invite to join Seesaw for families. It would be appreciated if you could connect to Seesaw if you haven't already done so.

Spring Topic

When we come back in the New Year we will be working on the topic of Wonders Of The World.  We will be using Jules Verne's story of Around the World in Eighty Days to guide us on a magnificent educational journey which will hopefully lead us to making some amazing discoveries.  It will lead us up to our Big Build.  I wonder what it will be?
