£5 Fruit money for the Half Term

Homework for first half of Spring term

Homework for second half of Spring term

We have been busy learning about division in maths this week. We found out that it's all about sharing equally. We used the cubes to help us solve the problems.
We have had a great half term learning all about Polar Explorers and we finished our learning this week with an exhibition for our families. As well as sharing all of our work we also enjoyed taking part in some fun learning activities too. Thank you to everyone for coming. We hope you had as much fun as we did!
We have been learning all about the famous explorer Ernest Shackleton. We made videos pretending to be him and his crew using the green screen. We used all the facts that we had learned about his expedition to the South Pole on his ship the 'Endurance'. Here are some of our videos.

Waterproof Experiment

We carried out an experiment to find the best waterproof material to make a coat for the explorers.

Polar Explorers

Our topic for this half term is Polar Explorers.

We had a very interesting start to our topic with an email from an explorer called Robert Swan. He told us that there had been an avalanche and all of their research had been lost. He needed our help to find out as much as we can about the Polar Regions and create our own exhibition. He sent us a ruck sack full of equipment and a book to help us with our learning.

We have been very busy learning about the polar regions and found out some of the similarities and differences between the Arctic and Antarctic. We have also learned about the Northern Lights and created our own art work with chalks and paint. Our paint art attack outside was lots of fun!
Settling in to Year 2

The Street Beneath your Feet

Our topic for this term is based on the book 'The Street Beneath your Feet'. We will be learning all about the underground and finding out about mini beasts, underground animals, fossils, gem stones and lots more. It's going to be a busy term and we'll be keeping you updated right here on our class page.
