2D

Welcome to 2D!

My name is Mrs Driscoll and myself and Miss Kriescher are very excited to be working with you and your children this year.

Our class page will be full of the exciting activities that we have been doing in class and will hopefully help your child to tell you all about their learning.

Things to Know

Muddy Monday - Please make sure that your child has a waterproof coat and wellies for our outdoor learning every Monday.

P.E. - We have P.E. on a Wednesday. Pupils can come to school wearing their P.E. Kit.

Snack- Due to current circumstances we are unable to provide fruit. Your child can bring a piece of fruit ( no smoothies or fruit drinks please) to school each day for playtime.

Water Bottles - Please provide your child with a water bottle ( clearly labelled with your child’s name) in addition to their lunch time drink.

Homework

All homework this term will be done via the Seesaw app. Your child should have come home with a sheet with a QR code which you can use to set up their Seesaw account and includes instructions on how to do this. We would be grateful if you would help them set it up - we're sure they will get the hang of it in no time at all!

You should also have received an email for you to become a family member. This will enable you to see the work that your child has uploaded to their Seesaw account in school.

In class we will be using Seesaw this term for uploading pictures and focused activities we have completed in class. The children will also use Seesaw themselves to upload evidence of practical independent tasks.

We have had a great start to the year! Here are some photos to show what we have been getting up to.

Colours Colours Everywhere!

We have been learning all about rainbows and colours. We studied the colours in bubbles and found out how we could see the colours of the rainbow. It was so interesting and lots of fun too!

Paws, Claws and Jaws

We have started our learning about ' All Creatures Great and Small' with hedgehogs. We found out the hedgehog numbers are dropping so we decided that we needed to learn all about them and find ways to save them.

We started by thinking about what we knew and what we wanted to find out. We sorted true and false facts and learned all about instructions. did you know we use 'bossy verbs' in instructions because they tell us what to do.

We found out what hedgehogs like to eat and where they like to live. We followed instructions to make a hedgehog using leaves and we made hedgehog homes in a our independent 'My Time' activities. We also wrote instructions to create a delicious Hedgehog Feast.

Muddy Monday

2D love Muddy Mondays!

Today we worked together to create a big hedgehog art attack!
