Welcome to Year 6!
Our class is made up of 25 pupils. We are taught by Mrs Hayter Monday through to Thursday and by Miss Thomas on a Thursday afternoon and Friday. We are very lucky to also have the support of both Miss Sewell in our Numeracy lessons and Mrs Grandon twice weekly in our Literacy lessons. We also benefit from a male presence in the form of Mr Williams throughout the week.
Yeat 6 is an important year, during which, we are taught essential skills both academically and socially which prepare us for our next stage in life, Secondary school! However, it is also a time where we have the opportunities to showcase our creative talents.
This half term our theme is Champions. This exciting project has a PE focus and teaches children about a range of sports and sporting events, the importance of exercise and healthy living and the history of the greatest sports event on Earth, the Olympics.
The children will aslo have the opportunity to apply their skills and understanding by creating a range of new sports and games for the great Council of Athens.
