This half term our topic is 'Electric Superheroes'
Children will learn about who are superheroes, what makes a superhero and how we could be superheroes ourselves. They will have an opportunity to design and make their own superhero cape and unlock the trapped superheroes from Spiderman's web. We will be reading lots of stories about superheroes such as Traction Man, Super Eliot and Super Daisy. From these books we will write character descriptions, use the computers to recreate images from the stories, and create suitable music for varying parts of each story.
In maths we will be concentrating on number facts, counting, reading 2 digit numbers and addition. We will also be looking at some 2D and 3D shapes. Every Friday we will have a problem to solve that will allow the children to apply what they have learnt in their Maths lesson into a real life situation.
It is important that reading books come into school everyday. We will read with your child twice a week in school and ask that you read at home with your child regularly. There are suggested questions in the back of the reading books which you can ask your child once the book has been read at home.
PE will be every Monday morning so it is important that your child has a PE kit in school until the end of the half term.
Children should also keep wellies in school as we will be doing outdoor learning every Friday. It is anticipated that we will venture out in most types of weather so it is vital that they also have a suitable coat.
If you have any questions please feel free to approach us at the end of the school day.
