Under the Sea
We have been busy learning all about sea creatures so we can make our 'Under the Sea' art gallery. Here's some of our super learning.
A Rainbow Trout
We had a real fish in Nursery today. We looked carefully at it and painted what we could see.
Our topic for this term is 'Under the Sea'. For our 'Rich Task' we received a letter from Mrs John asking us to create our own art gallery in our school foyer. We set straight to work and talked about all the things that we needed to do. We've put all of our ideas on the wall so we can remember what we need to do. Here are our some of our ideas.....
Learn about sea creatures, Make a sign for the art gallery, make sculptures and models for the art gallery, paint under the sea paintings, paint sea creatures, make name labels and frames for our paintings.
We are busy planning our ' Eggstravaganza'. We have been brainstorming our ideas and we are very excited. We have decided to invite our families, make Easter food, decorations and Egg/ Easter bonnets.
Look at what arrived in Nursery today! Chick watch has begun. We will keep you posted with any updates so keep watching!
The children have been very busy learning all about dinosaurs and they have had a wonderful idea to create their own museum to show all their findings. Today we have been learning about dinosaur skeletons and created our own skeletons using pipes.
The finished museum
The children have worked very hard and are proudly displaying all of their dinosaur work in their brilliant museum.
Our new topic is Eggsasaurus and we are starting with dinosaurs.
We have had a busy start to the term and the children are showing lots of interest and enthusiasm while finding out about the dinosaurs.

Christmas has Started!
This week we have been learning about a very special story. The children have been dressing up and retelling the Christmas Story. They have also been helping Mary and Joseph by making a stable and a manger for Baby Jesus.
We have also been busy doing lots of other Christmas activities. We have been counting buttons on the snowman, using the tweezers to pick up decorations to decorate the tree and even made our own Christmas cards, wrapping paper and gifts tags for our special gifts for our Mummies and Daddies.
Sense of Taste
This week we are learning about our sense of taste. We have been tasting different kinds of fruit and following recipe cards to make our own fruit salad. Delicious!!
It's been an exciting day in Nursery today. We have had some very special visitors!
Children in Need
We made Pudsey Bear hats in Nursery for Children in Need and we came to school looking very spotty! Thank you for all the donations.
It is Dragons' Den week!
In Nursery we are designing and making bread to help the baker to re open his bakery.
We are learning a new song '5 Currant buns in a Bakers shop',exploring with dough, tasting different bread and designing our own bread rolls.
Well, we have been to the Dragon's Den and the verdict is in .............
The dragon loves all our designs and the baker wants them all for his bakery! Luckily we are allowed to eat the ones we have made this week!
We have a new dark tent in Nursery and this week we have been using our light box to explore with shapes. We even made some patterns with the shapes.
Our Sense of Hearing - I can hear!
We have been reading the story 'Peace at Last' and poor Mr. Bear could not get to sleep because there were too many noises. We have been using our listening ears to help Mr. Bear to find out about different sounds by sorting toys that make sounds and toys that don't make a sound. We have been singing lots of songs and exploring with making different sounds. We used pots and pans and even made our own instruments. Mr Bear liked it when we played quiet music ( and so did the grown ups too!
We also went on a listening walk and heard the birds tweeting, the children talking, the leaves rustling and lots more!
Our Sense of Sight - I Can See!
We have been learning all about our sense of sight. Our story for the week has been ' Anna and her Amazing Multicoloured Glasses'. Anna was very sad because she had lost her magic glasses, so we have been busy making her some new coloured glasses. We have also been doing lots of looking with our 'I Spy Finders' and found lots of different things in our Nursery.
Here are some of the things that we have found.
We have started our topic by learning about the different parts of our bodies. We have loved singing our special song 'Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes' for the week and we can even sing it very fast now! We have made shape people, created our faces using different materials and even drawn our faces using the I pads.
Here is some of the super work we have been doing!
Our topic for this term is 'Marvellous Me!'
Can you guess what we are going to be learning about?
We have a very busy term planned with lots of learning all about our bodies, our senses, our families and much much more!
