We are learning a new song '5 Currant buns in a Bakers shop',exploring with dough, tasting different bread and designing our own bread rolls.

We will be following our designs and making our bread tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled for our yummy bread rolls soon!

Light Box

We have a new dark tent in Nursery and this week we have been using our light box to explore with shapes. We even made some patterns with the shapes.

Sense of Touch
This week we have been enjoying the sunshine in our willow area. We have been using our sense of touch and helping the bear from our story of the week 'We're going on a Bear Hunt'. We have explored different textures to make him a new home, painted him new friends using mud and got a bit messy making him some mud pies!
We have also been helping Mr Bear to learn about in, on and under. We had lots of fun following instructions and we even used the words too!

Our Sense of Hearing - I can hear!

We have been reading the story 'Peace at Last' and poor Mr. Bear could not get to sleep because there were too many noises. We have been using our listening ears to help Mr. Bear to find out about different sounds by sorting toys that make sounds and toys that don't make a sound. We have been singing lots of songs and exploring with making different sounds. We used pots and pans and even made our own instruments. Mr Bear liked it when we played quiet music ( and so did the grown ups too!

We also went on a listening walk and heard the birds tweeting, the children talking, the leaves rustling and lots more!

Our own instruments

We made our own instruments. It was great fun playing them!
The children also wanted to help Mr Bear by making him some ear defenders. We filled them with different materials to try and make the sounds quieter. The cotton wool worked really well.

Our Sense of Sight - I Can See!

We have been learning all about our sense of sight. Our story for the week has been ' Anna and her Amazing Multicoloured Glasses'. Anna was very sad because she had lost her magic glasses, so we have been busy making her some new coloured glasses. We have also been doing lots of looking with our 'I Spy Finders' and found lots of different things in our Nursery.

Here are some of the things that we have found.

Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

We have started our topic by learning about the different parts of our bodies. We have loved singing our special song 'Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes' for the week and we can even sing it very fast now! We have made shape people, created our faces using different materials and even drawn our faces using the I pads.

Here is some of the super work we have been doing!
