Year 2B

Welcome to Year 2B’s page!

Our topic this half term is ‘Land Ahoy!’ This topic has a design and technology focus and we will be looking in more detail at the properties of materials, a range of forces, and aspects of water and coastal safety. At the heart of the project, children will learn how to write narrative stories and additional skills in recording scientific tests and enquiries.

These are some of the areas that children will learn about during this project:

  • Forces (push, pull, floating and sinking)

  • Properties of different materials

  • How to conduct a fair test and enquiry

  • Water transport throughout the ages and across the world

  • Understand the different purposes boats are used for/were used for

  • Aspects and features of Welsh coastline

  • How to use a range of sources to find information

  • How to write and re-tell narrative stories.

Year 2B about to rehearse our Australian version of the ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’.

A huge thank you to all parents and family for helping their children practise the song at home. We were all blown away by their amazing performance in front of the whole school, they should be extremely proud of themselves, well done again 2B and Merry Christmas!

Unfortunately, the videos of the rehearsals and performance of our Australian version of the ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ are too large to upload, but here are some images:
