Summer Term
This term, our class will be exploring the topic 'All Change', with a special focus on 'Me and My World.' Through this topic, children will learn more about the world around them, how they fit into it, and the ways living things change and grow.
A key part of our learning will be all about plants and animals. Children will discover how plants grow from seeds, what they need to stay healthy and how they change over time. We will also be learning about animal habitats, finding out how different animals live and survive in their environments.
To support our understanding of the natural world, we will be thinking carefully about recycling and how we can look after our planet. Children will learn simple ways they can make a difference both at school and at home.
As part of the topic, we are looking forward to a visit to Tremains Woods, where pupils will have the opportunity to explore a natural habitat first‑hand and apply their learning outdoors.
One of the most exciting parts of the topic will be growing our own plants in school. Children will take responsibility for caring for them as they grow, before proudly selling them at our very own garden sale. This will help pupils develop confidence, responsibility and an understanding of how we can use what we grow.
This topic offers lots of hands‑on, practical learning and helps children build a strong connection to their world, their environment and their community.
