Rugby training is every Wednesday after school from 3.15pm to 4.15pm for boys and girls in years 5 and 6 (Weather Permitting). Children need clothes which they don't mind getting dirty or ripped as well as boots.
Year 4 pupils follow different pathway rules to years 5 and 6 so they do not do full contact tackling in games. If any parents are unsure or would like some advice before letting their child take part please talk to Mr McNamara.
It is the parents' responsibility to make sure their child knows if they will be picked up from the office or from outside Mr McNamara's class. Older pupils are allowed to walk home alone.
Mr McNamara take the training sessions and all pupils are encouraged to attend or if there is a good reason they can't do let Mr McNamara know in advance.
It is never too late to give it a go throughout the year so if you feel tempted to come along and give it a try please do so.
As the weather has been wet pupils will all need boots for training and matches. The school has some boots which have been donated from past pupils as boots have got too small. If your child is new to rugby ask them to check if we have boots they can use until they are sure they want to continue with the sport.
Parents and friends are welcome to attend matches to support the school but we would kindly like to remind those who do attend to support and encourage all pupils and staff who have to referee. We follow the WRU guidelines on Chwarae Teg (Fair Play).
If any parents or friends of the school are able to donate any equipment or know of any firms who might be able to sponsor us please get in touch with the office or Mr. McNamara.
